William (Bill) Barrier, PhD

Background

Bill Barrier is the program director of the Business and Regulatory Division, John Hopkins Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, Advanced Academic Program. He has prior extensive domestic and international experience with Pecan Deluxe, General Mills, the Pillsbury Company, YUM (KFC), Firmenich, and International Dairy Queen. Areas of accountability and leadership have encompassed product development, food safety, quality, regulatory, acquisition integration, business development, and new market due diligence. Bill has received three patents in collaboration with colleagues at the Pillsbury Company. Bill and his wife have two daughters and two recently acquired dogs (miniature poodle and miniature goldendoodle). He loves to travel and has only one continent left to visit (the coldest one). Gardening, cooking, movies, and photography are other pastimes.

IFT Highlights

Bill has been an IFT member for more than 30 years. He was the first secretary of the IFT Student Association. Snippets of service to IFT include the Wellness Conference Advisory Committee, Leadership Development Committee, Inclusive Systems Task Force, Task Force on Education, and the Governance Task Force.
