Honey-sweetened coffee

Beekeeper Coffee entered the ready-to-drink market with its collection of canned coffees sweetened with honey.

“We took a long look at the current marketplace and saw an opportunity to leverage our expertise and our network to bring a new voice to coffee,” said cofounder Fara Leff in a press release. “The industry is overwhelming and intimidating, and the next generation of coffee consumers is craving something simple, fresh, and aligned with their taste.”

Beekeeper Coffee offers three flavors of cold brew lattes, Vanilla, Mocha, and Caramel, as well as a Double Black cold brew with a drop of honey. The latte varietals contain between 150 and 160 calories and between 17 and 18 grams of sugars per can. The Double Black cold brew offering contains zero calories. All four offerings are made with arabica beans and pure honey.

Beekeeper Coffee products are available for purchase on the brand’s website with a retail launch expected later this year. The suggested retail price of a single can is $3.99.

Antioxidant-packed drink mix

ROAR Organic announced the launch of Cherry Limeade Plus Powder in collaboration with Peloton Instructor and brand partner Jess Sims. This drink mix can be combined with water for a refreshing, hydrating beverage full of vitamins and electrolytes.

ROAR Organic’s Cherry Limeade Plus Powder is made with an organic coconut water base, which is rich in electrolytes. The drink mix also contains immunity-boosting ingredients, such as zinc and elderberry powder. This product is made without artificial colors or flavors and is non-GMO.

One 8-ounce package of Cherry Limeade Plus Powder contains 100% of the daily recommended value of vitamins C, B5, and B12. Additionally, each drink mix stick packet contains 20 calories and 2 grams of sugar.

Better sodas for teens

PLEZi Nutrition, a company cofounded by former First Lady Michelle Obama, introduced PLEZi FiZZ to cater to tweens and teens. This carbonated fruit drink is available in three new flavors: Cherry Limeade, Lemon Lime Squeeze, and Strawberry Lemonade.

PLEZi Nutrition was founded to help give kids healthier food products. The company claims that its products help children adjust their palates to crave less sweetness in their foods and beverages.

“Nearly two-thirds of U.S. youth consume sugary drinks like soda on a given day,” said Dr. Shale Wong, a pediatrician and member of the PLEZi Nutrition Kitchen Cabinet, in a press release. “We in the public health community have been pleading for decades to drink water, and, frankly, that alone isn’t working. It is clear to me that families need better options if we are going to shift the health of the country, especially for our kids.”

PLEZi FiZZ beverages contain 2 grams of fiber and nutrients such as vitamin C and potassium. Additionally, these beverages contain 8 grams of sugar per 8.4-ounce serving and no added sugar.
