Public Health Award in honor of Babcock-Hart & Gilbert A. Leveille

Partners: Institute for the Advancement of Food and Nutrition Sciences (IAFNS) & the American Society for Nutrition (ASN)

Award Description: Honors an individual whose scientific and technological contributions have significantly improved public health through better nutrition and/or a more nutritious food supply. The recognition is for those whose work has led to innovative advancements in food science and technology with a tangible impact on public health.

Award: $3,000 honorarium and a crystal award from IFT

Criteria & Eligibility: Nominees must demonstrate contributions resulting in practical, technological innovations within large-scale food production systems aimed at enhancing public health. Eligible contributions may span areas including food production, food processing, food packaging, storage, and/or distribution. The impact of these innovations should align with the broader goal of improving health through food for everyone, as envisioned by IFT, IAFNS, and ASN.
