Partner: Phi Tau Sigma – The Honor Society of Food Science and Technology
This award honors an individual who has brought distinguished recognition to the science of food community through a career of exemplary contributions to academia, industry, government, or other fields. This award recognizes outstanding achievements in innovation across education, research, leadership, and service to the profession, and acknowledges those who have been a leading positive influence and impactor on the global food system.
Award: $3,000 honorarium and a plaque, sponsored by Phi Tau Sigma - The Honor Society of Food Science and Technology
Criteria & Eligibility
Nominees must have been employed in the science of food community for at least 15 years before the application deadline. Nominees who are not members of Phi Tau Sigma shall be simultaneously elected to Phi Tau Sigma membership by that society upon selection as honoree of the Distinguished Career Award honoring Carl R. Fellers, PhD.
Priority consideration shall be given to a record of impactful achievements through innovation in education, research, leadership, and/or service that has enhanced the quality, safety, and nutritional value of the global food supply. Nominees should demonstrate how their contributions have led to significant advancements and improvements within and beyond their immediate professional environment, influencing various impacted groups such as the public, governmental agencies, associations, industry, and scientific and academic communities.
