International Food Security Award in honor of Bor S. Luh

This award honors an individual or team whose research has made substantial advancements in how foods can be manufactured and made available to meet the nutritional needs and food preferences of people living in emerging economies in a manner that is cost-effective for both consumers and manufacturers. The recipient will exemplify leadership that drives transformative change in the global food system, embodying IFT's vision of a world where science and innovation are connected and universally accepted as essential to improving food for everyone.
Award: $2,000 honorarium and a crystal award from IFT
Criteria & Eligibility
The nominated work must demonstrate one or more of the following:
- International exchange of ideas in the field of food science and technology and/or food and nutrition security;
- Better international cooperation to develop technologies that address food and nutrition security; and/or
- Technological development and transfer of food science and technology knowledge to enhance the food security of emerging economies.
Nominees will advance IFT's mission by showcasing innovative solutions that reflect a deep commitment to global food security, advancing research that leads to real-world impact, and fostering cooperation across borders to ensure a better future for all.
