Lifetime Achievement Award in honor of Nicolas Appert

This award is given in partnership with the Chicago Section of IFT, and honors an individual who has demonstrated lifetime contributions to the science of food. This award celebrates those whose work has made a lasting impact on the global food system. Recipients of this award are recognized not only for their scientific achievements but for their enduring efforts to improve food for communities worldwide, leaving a legacy of innovation and progress that benefits future generations.
Award: $5,000 honorarium and a crystal award from IFT
Criteria and Eligibility
Nominees must have a career marked by cumulative, measurable contributions to the science of food in alignment with IFT’s vision. We are seeking individuals who:
- Have made groundbreaking contributions through research publications that have shaped their field of study.
- Have positively influenced the science of food through a combination of research, teaching, and outreach (extension) activities.
- Have developed novel products that have made a global impact and are enjoyed around the world.
- Have driven transformative improvements in food safety and/or nutrition regulation, demonstrating leadership in their country and beyond.
