Outstanding Young Scientist Award in honor of Samuel Cate Prescott

Award Information

This award honors an individual who has provided significant, early-career research contributions that advance the science of food and positions them as an emerging leader prepared to make an impact on the global food system. This award recognizes innovative research that demonstrates a commitment to solving key food system challenges to improve food for everyone, in alignment with IFT’s vision.

Award: $5,000 honorarium and a crystal award from IFT

Criteria & Eligibility

Nominees must, by July 1 of the year the award is presented, have received their highest degree within the previous 10 years. Examples of significant contributions include, but are not limited to, new methodologies/processes, competencies, manuscripts, patents, transferred technologies, and/or commercial products. Contributions should reflect the nominee’s potential as a leader in shaping the future of the global food system. The nominee’s work should demonstrate a clear commitment to advancing mission.
