Family favorites in one bite

Pasta is enjoyed weekly by over half of Americans, according to Mintel, and Buitoni is providing pasta lovers with new flavors. Buitoni has expanded its ravioli offerings to include Pepperoni & Cheese Ravioli and Chicken Parmesan Ravioli.

“We’re excited to bring consumers a fresh take on Italian-inspired dishes that reflect the tastes and preferences of consumers here in the United States,” Graham Corneck, president and CEO of Buitoni Food Company, said in a press release.

The new Pepperoni & Cheese Ravioli is inspired by the popular pizza topping and combines smoky, spicy pepperoni with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. The Chicken Parmesan Ravioli features breaded chicken, tomato sauce, and grated cheese in one bite.

These new varieties of ravioli can be found in the refrigerated aisle. Each serving contains 13 grams of protein, and each 20-ounce package can serve a family of four. Buitoni’s new ravioli flavors can be found nationwide at various retail locations at a suggested retail price of $8.99.

MatchaKo debuted its new ready-to-drink matcha beverage, a shelf-stable matcha drink that is both certified organic and non-GMO Project Verified.

Founded in January 2021, MatchaKo uses ceremonial grade matcha sourced from the Kagoshima region of Japan. Founder and CEO Mark Missirlian started the company after making matcha at home and realizing the process is long and requires specialized and expensive tools.

“I tried finding a more convenient option in stores and online, which are too sugary and contain low-quality matcha, and there was nothing that met my expectations,” Missirlian said in a press release. “It was then that I was determined to provide an option for a simple, yet high-quality product to bring to consumers.”

MatchaKo’s new ready-to-drink beverage is available in four flavors: Original Unsweetened, Matcha Lemonade, Oat Milk Matcha Latte, and Almond Milk Matcha Latte. Each beverage ranges from 5 to 60 calories per can.

Matcha has similar caffeine levels to traditional coffee and has been thought to boost metabolism. Additionally, the MatchaKo beverage contains over 100 times more antioxidants than traditional teas, and three out of four flavors are sweetened with Grade A amber maple syrup.

The new MatchaKo beverage is available nationwide through the company’s online store and in select stores in Southern California. The brand plans to expand its retail presence in 2023. Packs of eight cans can be purchased for a suggested retail price of $45.
