CHICAGO – The Institute of Food Technologists is proud to announce that it recently received the Welcoming Environment Organizational Award from Association Forum. The Welcoming Environment Organizational Award is given to an association that has demonstrated exemplary outcomes in providing an inclusive and welcoming environment and culture. IFT demonstrates a commitment to creating a Welcoming Environment for not only staff, but also members.

The award criteria included:

  • How the association championed a welcoming environment for staff and members
  • How a welcoming environment is incorporated into core values of the association
  • How leadership is held accountable to treat employees with respect and care
  • How a Welcoming Environment has benefited the organization, staff and members

“One of the strategic promises of our organization surrounds diversity and inclusion. As part of that, we are keenly focused on providing a welcoming atmosphere for staff, volunteers, and members,” said Lauren Friedman, sHRBP, IFT’s director of human resources. “We look forward to enhancing our efforts in this initiative more and more each year.”

IFT will be recognized at Association Forum’s Honors Gala on June 18, 2020 at the Chicago Marriott Downtown-Magnificent Mile.
