IFT’s Food Technology earns top honors at 2023 Folio: Eddie & Ozzie Awards

Food Technology magazine took home top honors at the 2023 Folio: Eddie & Ozzie Awards in the Editorial Use of Data (Association/Nonprofit) category for its original reporting based on its Compensation and Career Path report.

CHICAGO – November 9, 2023 – The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), a nonprofit scientific organization committed to advancing the science of food and its application across the global food system, is pleased to announce that its Food Technology magazine took home top honors at the 2023 Folio: Eddie & Ozzie Awards in the Editorial Use of Data (Association/Nonprofit) category for its original reporting based on its Compensation and Career Path report. In addition, Food Technology’s complementary podcast, Omnivore, received honorable mentions in the categories of Best Science Podcast and Best New Podcast.

The Folio: Eddie & Ozzie Awards received more than 1,100 entries this year. Submissions were scored by qualified design and editorial professionals, with the highest-scoring entries moving into the final round. Previously, the Food Technology editorial team earned honorable mentions in three categories of the 2023 Jesse H. Neal Awards for Best Series, Best Commentary, and Editorial Use of Data.

The Food Technology 2022 Compensation and Career Path Report examines compensation, job satisfaction, workplace challenges and overall career trends across the science of food. The result of two independent surveys distributed to approximately 30,000 global IFT members and allied companies, the report outlines the successes and struggles of science of food professionals today. The 2023 report, which will focus solely on compensation trends, is set to be unveiled at IFT FIRST 2024 in Chicago.

Meanwhile, the Omnivore podcast amplifies the voices of the food science and technology community with each episode serving up a series of solutions-oriented content and expert viewpoints on the food industry’s top issues with sound, science-based analysis. Every other week, Omnivore features lively discussion and interviews with leading food scientists and researchers, product innovators, policy makers and thought leaders from across the world of food.
