Highlighting 15 Years of Innovation

This year marks the 15th anniversary of SupplySide West, and the event will bring together thousands of professionals from the food, supplement, and cosmetic industries, feature more than 100 hours of educational sessions, and showcase more than 1,300 exhibit booths on Oct. 10–14, 2011, at The Venetian & The Sands Expo, Las Vegas, Nev.

There are more than 40 educational sessions covering the latest information in the dietary supplement, food and beverage, and cosmetic and personal care industries. The educational programming is organized into four different tracks: Nutrition Track I, Nutrition Track II, Food & Beverage Track, and Cosmeceutical Track. Wellknown experts will present the latest information about ingredient science, regulations, and market trends during sessions that are part of the nutrition tracks. Sessions in the Food & Beverage Track will address important consumer and product trends that drive product development activities. The following sessions are part of the Cosmeceutical Track: “Anti-Aging Ingredients and High Tech Devices,” “International Regulatory Round Up,” “Stem Cells, Mother Cells and Epidermal Growth Factors,” “Algae for ‘Next Generation’ Skin Care,” “Innovations in Skin Care,” and “Ingredients for Skin Whitening and Wrinkle Reduction.”

In addition to these sessions, there are six workshops available (separate registration is required): “Functional Food Product Development: Market, Regulations, Bioactive Compounds, and Their Utilization,” “2nd Palm Fruit Bioactives Workshop: Advancing Market Potentials through Scientific Discoveries,” “Superfruit Update: Science, Consumers, and the State of the Category,” “Health Practitioners and Supplements: Channel Data, Strategies, and Opportunities for Growth,” “IPA Probiotic Update: Insights & Perspectives from the Physician, Regulator, and Market Analyst,” and “GOED Exchange Update: Regulatory and State-of-the-Market Issues for EPA and DHA Omega-3.”

On the exhibit hall floor this year, exhibitors will showcase ingredients such as vitamins, minerals, herbs, fruits and vegetables, colorings, fats and oils, starches, antioxidants, flavorings, amino acids, sweeteners, marine extracts, enzymes, dairy, probiotics and prebiotics, and more for use in foods and beverages, dietary supplements, or cosmetics. Additionally, exhibitors will highlight products and services for packaging, manufacturing and processing, and laboratory. Representatives from the exhibiting companies will be on hand to discuss the latest technology and offerings, and many will have samples and prototypes formulated with their ingredients to share with attendees. There will also be Science at SupplySide poster displays and Q&A sessions on the exhibit hall floor.
