Kashi Overnight MuesliMake breakfast while you sleep
Kashi Co. recently introduced its Overnight Muesli, a blend of organic grains, fruits, nuts, and seeds that consumers mix with their choice of milk alternative. After refrigerating overnight, the whole grain cereal becomes creamy while retaining its crunch. It is intended to be eaten cold, but the company says it can also be enjoyed warm.

“As a group of people who are passionate about food, we take inspiration from a variety of trends and experiences,” says Jeff Johnson, senior director, innovation and new ventures. “For this product, we were inspired by the adoption of popular breakfast foods from Europe, like muesli and soaked oats. This international favorite is gaining serious steam in the U.S. because of its strong nutritional qualities, but it’s also a very mindful way to create our morning meal.”

Non-GMO Project Verified and made with 100% whole grains, the cereal provides 7–8 grams of protein, 8–9 grams of fiber, and 6–10 grams of fat per serving. The single-serve, portable cups are available in three flavors—Cherry, Cinnamon & Cardamom; Cacao Nib, Almond & Coconut; and Sunflower & Pepita. The line can be found at retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $2.49.

Old El Paso Mini Soft Tortilla Taco BoatsMini tacos that hold their shape
Old El Paso launched its new Mini Soft Tortilla Taco Boats, miniature taco shells that feature a flat bottom and rounded sides, making them easy to fill, hold, and eat. Perfect for appetizers or taco night, the shells can hold a variety of favorite fillings.

“We found that consumers were referring to our original Stand ‘N Stuff Soft Flour Tortillas as ‘Taco Boats,’ so we officially changed the product name,” says Tracy Chaloupka, associate marketing manager. “Consumers love the versatility of the original size for taco night, but they were also looking for a smaller option for snacking, entertaining, and for those with smaller appetites.”

The shelf-stable taco boats, which can be microwaved or baked before eating, provide just 160 calories and 6 grams of fat per suggested serving of four tortillas. The mini taco boats come 12 to a package and can be found at retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $2.80.
