Birch Benders Ube Mochi Pancake & Waffle Mix

Purple pancakes and waffles

Birch Benders announced the launch of Ube Mochi Pancake & Waffle Mix, inspired by a popular ingredient in the Philippines.

Ube is a purple yam that originated in the Philippines and is commonly used in desserts. It is known for its vibrant purple color and sweet, nutty flavor and aroma. Birch Benders Ube Mochi Pancake & Waffle Mix combines the purple tuber with sweet rice flour for a gluten-free and vegan baking mix.

“This innovative addition to our product lineup not only offers a delightful burst of color and flavor, but also caters to the growing demand for gluten-free breakfast options,” said Chief Operating Officer Dan Anglemyer in a press release.

To make pancakes or waffles, users need only add water to the baking mix to create the batter. One serving, or approximately one-quarter cup of mix, contains 150 calories, 8 grams of sugar, and 2 grams of protein. Additionally, the pancake and waffle mix is free of trans fat.

Birch Benders Ube Mochi Pancake & Waffle Mix is available for purchase at Whole Foods and Sprouts markets for a suggested retail price of $5.99.

Frontier Co-op Regenerative Organic Certified spices

Spices carry regenerative certification

Frontier Co-op debuted a new line of Regenerative Organic Certified bottled spices to support smallholder farmers. The line of spices includes Ceylon ground cinnamon, Ceylon cinnamon sticks, ground turmeric, ground ginger, and medium grind black pepper.

Frontier Co-op received its certification through the Regenerative Organic Alliance. The Alliance uses the U.S. Department of Agriculture Certified Organic standard as a baseline for its certification, and then adds benchmarks that incorporate the major pillars of regenerative organic agriculture.

“This new Regenerative Organic Certified line is a natural evolution of our commitment to benefit both people and the planet,” said CEO Tony Bedard in a press release. “Retailers can confidently put Frontier Co-op on their shelves, knowing that consumers are purchasing a high-quality product that goes a step beyond meeting the highest standards for soil health, all while returning benefits to the smallholder farming communities that are integral to our supply chains across the world.”

Frontier Co-op’s Regenerative Organic Certified line of spices can be purchased at select retailers for a suggested retail price of between $6.49 and $9.69.ft
