The IFT Feeding Tomorrow Fund raises awareness of the science of food as a desirable career path. By attracting, retaining, and celebrating the most creative and innovative minds of the profession, we will ensure the world has the ability to feed a growing global population.
About the IFT Feeding Tomorrow Fund
The foundation of IFT was founded in 1985, to be agents of change in the food science industry who are building a diverse pipeline of new talent for the field and harnessing the experience of our partners to feed the world now and into the future

We Motivate
The world needs the next generation of creative and innovative minds engaged in the science of food to meet a critical challenge ahead of us. Yet, science of food educators report alarming declines in the number of students enrolled in food science studies.
The Feeding Tomorrow Fund is dedicated to reversing this troubling trend by inspiring the next generation to consider careers in food science—and connecting with them early.
We promise to encourage the best young minds to pursue careers in the science of food. The world needs the brightest minds engaged in the science of food in order to meet the challenges ahead of us to feed a projected population of 9 billion in 2050.
We provide 75+ classroom resources and experiments for K–12 educators.
We Support
Through the Feeding Tomorrow Fund, IFT actively works to remove obstacles to education in the sciences, particularly for those most impacted by limited access to nutritious food. As the cost of college rises, higher education slips out of reach for many.
We promise to encourage, promote and reward excellence of students pursuing careers in the science of food. Our scholarship program is one of the largest in the nation rewarding undergraduate and graduate students for their dedication to their future profession.
Since 1985, the Feeding Tomorrow Fund has awarded more than 2,700 scholarships, totaling over $3 million.
We Leverage
We bring together the collective knowledge of our community to pursue food and nutrition solutions for those in need. Knowledge is power. And with a global IFT community of over 60,000 strong, the fund will contribute knowledge toward food and nutrition solutions, in particular for those at the bottom of the economic pyramid.
