Erie , Illinois, Erie Foods International, Inc., specializing in dairy protein ingredients is currently seeking an individual to fill the position of Quality Assurance. Erie Foods offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The successful candidate will manage the day to day QA activities at our Erie, Illinois, plant to support our quality programs. The ability to effectively communicate within the business and externally is a key requirement. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science in Food Science or other closely related fields with relevant processing or production experience.   Purpose of Position:  To oversee quality programs and GMPs in the production plant. To assist the Quality Manager with projects, continuous improvement and problem solving  To support the Production group with quality documentation and oversight as needed   Responsibilities: Serve as a technical liaison between Quality and Production.  Oversee daily GMP’s in the production plant, writing and updating procedures as necessary and providing training as required. Assist with the implementation and follow up of quality programs in the manufacturing facility. Complete line inspections, sign off paperwork, maintain quality records and report to Quality Manager. Assist with complaint and non-conformance investigations. Interact with and support Purchasing, Production, Customer Service, Quality Assurance and HR/Safety/Continuous Improvement and other EFI departments in support of business and client requirements. Manage all incoming material to comply with Erie’s material management program Manage releases of raw and finish product for the North Plant, including sensory testing and inspection for selected products. Manage scoop and brushes used a the North Plant and audit use to ensure accountability Review CoA’s to ensure they meet customer and/or Erie specifications Help maintain a register of approved suppliers and ensure documentation on file is current PCQI and SQF practitioners responsibilities for Erie North Plant. Assist with selected sample request and keeping production retains. Manage and sign off Erie pest control program Review QA records and released from Co-manufacturers Manage and sign off on Erie pest control program. Assist with customer and 3 rd party audits.
